tetronom ball bar – artifact for large measurement volumes
The tetronom ball bar consists of a supporting body, one or more CFRP tripods and any number of ball bar elements (tetronom single bars). The number of single elements depends on the total length of the tetronom ball bar. To measure all alignments in space, the tetronom ball bar is mounted on a sturdy and height-adjustable tripod.
Targets for the tetronom ball bar
The tetronom ball bar works with targets made of stainless steel or ceramic, with theodolite, laser tracker and retro-reflective targets as well as blasted or coated balls. The standard ball diameter is 38.1 mm (1.5“). All balls can be mounted on the tetronom single bars by magnets. The tetronom single bars are also attached with magnets to the docking stations without any tension. Therefore, changes in length caused by the system’s tensioning can be excluded.
Flexible set-up
The number of single elements depends on the total length of the tetronom ball bar. To measure all alignments in space, the tetronom ball bar is mounted on a sturdy and height-adjustable tripod. Within minutes, the artefact can be moved inside the measuring volume.
Areas of application
The tetronom ball bar is an artifact that fulfils all requirements of the VDI/VDE guideline 2617, 2634 and DIN EN ISO 10360. Large coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) can be approved and inspected with this ball bar. The tetronom ball bar can also be used for mobile measuring devices such as portable measuring arms or laser trackers
